Pretty sure the bear-bee thing is just a few seconds to explain why the Mane 6 aren’t in this episode. The writers have been saying for months that they aren’t important here.

How much stuff does it seem like they’re packing into one episode? First we seem to have a plotline with Derpy and Matilda, then it seems like there might be one with Amethyst Star, now we have Octavia and Vinyl in the mix. That’s what might be three plotlines, not including how they might have to establish the fight with the Mane 6 and the bear-bee thing, in 22 minutes.
And how much of this is going to be stuff we have seen thousands of times in the fandom already? Like how much of Derpy’s or Octavia’s or Vinyl’s personality are we going to see and how close is it going to get? I’m not gonna call pandering because I want to see them, but I just don’t know how well they’re going to handle cramming all of them in without it feeling like someone didn’t get a forced line/appearance.
We in the fandom have seen it many times over.
Those who watch the show but are not in the fandom get to experience this stuff for the first time with this episode.
Unless they actually have Vinyl talk they’ve basically spoiled the best scene already.

Octavia’s personality doesn’t match the fanon Octavia’s personality. She likes electronic music.
They’re all forced lines/appearances. That’s pretty much the point of this episode… it’s one giant free-for-all celebration.
