@Scrounge
That may be what I was always thinking. I mean if I was an Etherial dream entity like that, why not split up into two dreams? leave just a fragment somewhere in a dreamer deep in the realm and grow.
@Master Fox
Luna created the super dream to make sure the Tantibus wouldn’t keep jumping host to host like it did with the mane 6. As well as make sure that she’d find it in the first place. With over a hundred possible hosts it would be a needle in a haystack.

I see the dream realm kinda like the matrix in a way. Each person’s dream their own creation and it takes a bit more for two to share a dream. Even more for a whole village.

While I understand that’s what they said if it really was only able to enter 1 dream at a time, how come it infected all of ponyville through pinkie pie’s dream AFTER it left Pinkie Pie’s dream?
Anyone else think it was interesting that the Tantibus could “infect” the dreams of those who were dreamed of by the affected? It was pretty clear nobody was sharing dreams before Luna merged them (otherwise the Mane 6 would know about Luna’s repeating nightmare).
I guess it sought out those who it saw rather than being transferred directly. Does that mean the dream realm is a sort of separate plane of reality?
No, you idiot, Tantibus could still only be in one dream at a time. Meaning what we saw in the collective dream merge back with Luna was the only version of Tantibus that existed.
It’s a moot point, because the Tantabus no longer exists. Luna created it out of her guilt stemming from those years she spent as Nightmare Moon, as a way of punishing herself. The whole point of the episode was Luna coming to with her dark side, and realizing she doesn’t have to beat herself up over her past. She absorbed the Tantibus back into her soul, and it ceased to exist as an independent being.
Was that Pinkie’s dream or Ponyville’s dream? If only her dream, Tantibus isn’t in the dragon’s dream unless dreaming with somebody means dream sharing.
The Tantibus managed to get out into all of Ponyville’s dreams because Pinkie actually lingered on that one. Basil was there and gone too fast to establish a lock.
Dragons probably make for bad hosts for some reason. I know Spike wasn’t in Luna’s dream, but maybe there was another reason for discluding him, like covering up this exact loose end.
If you can. It may not have had that ability.

That’s quite true, but that still leads to the question. Could the Tantibus slip into a dragon’s dream? Or a part of it?

Spike has actually been shown dreaming, ? It involved Rarity and ice cream and was nowhere near as kinky as I probably just made it sound.
It was a part of Luna Therefore it shared her dream walking ability.

THEN how was spike in the dream world?
