Some gyms are like that. Its like a hangout. If you’re a “land whale” or dont look all that good, they dont want you there, for “Eye sore” reasons. Its usually those upper class gyms.

This gym has several entrances, leading to several sections designed for a specific bodytype. Fluttershy wanted to try the Tall, Thin room, but it looks like she might need to go to the Tall, Fat room instead.
Well I mean upper class as in more than just a place with gym equipment on the strip somewhere.
A lot of smaller gyms are like that too. It’s pretty much random.

My dad went to the gym for a couple of months and lost about 30 kg. Maybe american gyms are different?

Gyms trying to keep out fat people? Aren’t fat people the ones who should go to the gym?
