It’s way smaller than anything that should be taken seriously but the meta implications (the show is in-universe fiction within the movie so is it more “real”?) might be worth considering for fun if nothing else.

I’m probably going to get paid for doing science - my first real job - in a month, so it seems to have paid off rather well :p (was able to get some professors’ attention by showing my willingness to work on my own by the work I’ve done)

I planned to at first, as the video indicated, but that’s kind of on indefinite haiatus, now. For awhile I was thinking of nudging my way into the analysis community with science, but since then I’ve decided I’d rather invest more time in other personal projects (fanfics and art, other hobbies) and do more real-world science as opposed to pony science.

I thought it was neat. I knew most of the serious estimates put them at about a meter’s height, but this is the first time I’ve seen the data collated like this. (And your headcanon hypothesis w.r.t. the Equestrian carat seems legit.)
I did a little reserch a while back, I got an image of applejack trying to round up some cows, and them comapird her height to that of a standard cow. Sadly the results I got where wild and incosistant, so I discarded them. I can only assume equestria cows are significantly diferent to earth cows.
At a later point I had a second go at estimateing the standard size of a pony (fluttershy spesifically, but who it was does not really matter), useing a few methods I cant , then lastly modified by ‘hugability’. I it its not a very scientific aproch, but I get a result of about 110 cm (3 feet, 7 inches). A little heigher then the results seen here, but still well within comfort.

All four data points line up pretty overwhelmingly, I’m afraid. See the video. This isn’t G1. Also there’s still no real saying how strong they are, and very small children could still ride them :q
Please stop. G1 already compares ponies to humans for us. They’re big enough for children to ride around on; and that’s kind of the point in the spirit of kids and marketing. Saying otherwise is just forcing headcanon on am already cartoon world with cartoon logic and physics.
