Personally I think the battle was kind of bullshit. The whole thing ultimately hung up on whether Discord could regenerate his spirit, and decided that he can’t solely because we haven’t seen him do it.
…which kind of means a lot of the more controversial decisions hang on the entire premise being “the character theoretically probably can do this, but we haven’t seen them do it so we’re just arbitrarily going to decide they can’t”.

To be fair it wasn’t impossible for something like that to happen, I’m far more surprised they didn’t resort to funding long before because there’s no way a company could profit from unbought properties with just fair use anyway.
In any case tho is a glorified fanfic like many others so his validity only goes as far as one wants to take it. I wouldn’t take it as gospel.
