`Even though I it that Project Horizons in my opinion is not the best story or piece of literature out there by far, it still is my favourite. Blackjack's story, her personality, her friends, relationships with them, her feeling of guilt, tragedy, her anguish and suffering... That makes the story and more importantly the character work for me. Moreover, no other character has ever managed to come close to her as a fictional hero I got attached to (and there are a lot of characters I genuinely like).  I personally value her specifically because of her flaws and mistakes. If she was better, i wouldn't be interested in her. I want characters to mess up and feel a ton of guilt after. It is not even about the "lets make character not perfect to be more realistic and humane", it's that I genuinely like the fact that she fails and suffers for that and has to trudge through. If she really saved all whom she tried to save but failed, if she succeeded without all the sacrifice she had to make, that would kill all the interest for me. I simply like tragedy.`
