I don’t care if she said she wasn’t trying to take down blogs in the first place, just by the name is enough for people to make the wrong assumption both in and against the “movement”.
I tried that with some people elsewhere (agreeing with them on the seriousness of rape itself but pointing out the flaws and other issues) and all i got was “rape er” and “rape apologist”. But then again the problem was that it was about the blog of APM and the uninformed and wild accusations that people threw around about it (yes even pinkiepony who now acts like she never ever intended to target the blog even though she called it out and made it the center point)
Besides this movement isnt in her control anymore, many have already expressed how she isnt their boss and that they will use the DWM to target the blog APM.
Pinkiepony is just another person that wants to remove the less-than-wholesome element of MLP from the internet/world. An impossible feat, and quite frankly not worth anyone’s time.
Want to bring awareness to women’s struggles, great. There are shelters and websites and articles all over the internet. Expressing the opinion that rape jokes aren’t funny is all well and fine, asking people to not influence anyone to commit a crime is responsible. But starting a tumblr campaign against a fictional character that people seek out themselves and voluntarily read is just dumb.
And besides, Pinkiepony seems like the type of person that heard about the Molestia meme and saw one post of JJ’s blog then got the rest of her information through asking others.
if she really truly wanted to raise awareness about Rape culture and the like, why choose the imaginary out of character horse as the poster child for such a thing?

Technically no, especially since it was never specifically about APM. APM is not the sole source of Princess Molestia, and is generally more responsible in its publicity than other PM fans. ((Though in my opinion, it could stand to do better, and I would really feel better about JJ if he’d acknowledge the reality of sex abuse on occasion, even if I don’t have anything necessarily against his blog.))
Even if someone makes a poorly worded, or possibly faulty argument, that does not mean it is a good idea to try to eviscerate their personal character. I would recommend trying to politely point how the flaws in their argument so they can make a better one next time.

At the start of this whole mess I wan’t on ether side, but with how she was focused on Molestia(all of it, not just the blog) but said it was about spreading awareness of rape jokes being wrong, and with more and more people ing her just to take done the one blog and with some even putting down anyone that would counter their point, like with pixiekitties, it put me more against the movement(not her).
It is important to vet your sources when you are looking for information about any given argument. Generally speaking, getting your information first-hand is better than getting it second-hand, from someone who dislikes the first-hand source.
She didn’t want the damn blog taken down. How many times can I say that? Someone asked her about it, she said something along the lines of “while that might work, I a) don’t want people reporting me and b) don’t think we should”.

So if she doesn’t want to shut down blogs including APM, why is she name it down with molestia in the first place? Can it be better if she change the movement name? Like: Down with Molest! Or Down with rape & molest!

This, it’s why I can’t a movement like this even if I do agree with them.(in this case I only agree with rape jokes being bad)
