“Twilight, you have to go out there, face that mob and apologise for what you did!”
“I will, but if I go out, I’m afriad that they’ll get all of us.”
“No we won’t, we just want Twilight Sparkle!”
“Well maybe not you, but they might take Spike!”
“I’m part of the mob, Twilight!”

Interestingly, it’s primarily because I’m such a big Flutterfan that a certain unmentionable Fluttershy episode from season two comes under particularly harsh criticism from me. As for Bats!, I don’t really contest that the concept was sketchy, since I concur with the sentiment that it was in some ways just a big excuse to turn Fluttershy into a vampire, but I will vigorously defend Fluttershy’s own motivations and actions within that story.
@K_A
Do you mean the one about Maud and the Flim Flam episode? Haven’t seen them yet. Which is odd, considering I work for /r/MaudPie now.
@Millennial Dan
In fairness, there are other issues in S4 as well. Twilight Sparkle’s presence just feels awkward to me, now, and I’m not sure it’s even possible to handle the situation with her elegantly without serious changes to the status quo, since one would expect her status ascension to have serious implications, which have been either glossed over or portrayed in such a way that feels OOC.
Really, my angsty comment comes from people’s reaction to my (ittedly heavy but still deserved) criticism of “Bats!”.

Such as? Nothing I’ve seen in S4 was anything to get too excited about, so the idea of any Fluttershy episode dragging it down would be a stretch indeed.

Edited because: italics don't really seem to do anything
do Flutterfans still get mad?
Thanks for that.
Yeah I bet we were all thinking the same thing. ;D
whenever i see fluttershy cry i get very angry.
its like a old male instinct to defend a love one in need of help.

PS: The most recent few episodes have been consistent winners IMO.

Shifty eyes, points to the left
IT WAS HIM!
Truly pathetic…
Ha! I have yet to see an “easily scared off” Flutterfan.
@PL
LIAR!
If I know fluttershy fans I should be able to scare the remaining ones off.
