Yeah when Emet first showed up post-Stormblood, I saw a fun similarity to Discord with the goofy persona and snapping his fingers to change reality. Then we get to Amaurot and well what do you know? His whole motivation is basically just Discord from the G5 comics with a pink-haired morality tether who’s death sent them off the deep end.
Emet and Hythlodaeus’ interactions in Elpis were just classic Fluttercord.

Well, the worry was that their differing personalities would clash. Couple that with them being political leaders of different lands and Twilight’s panicky imagination extrapolated that it might lead to a war.
Fortunately it all worked out and Embrax became my OTP :P
