To be fair she does have a healing factor due to being a mutant and I like to think he would not do anything that would rip her in half. I guess at the time I was imagining that episode of Freakazoid from way back in the day where he adopted a rabid dog (Foamy?) that kept attacking him, and didn’t really seem to pay this any mind. Though sometimes big animals don’t quite know their own strength which results in injury of their caretakers, even if unintentionally.
