I could picture Twilight being an Arch or Linux from Scratch kind of mare as well. I could really picture her using any distro except maybe mint.
Twilight honestly seems like the only one who would have a real computer. Rarity and RD would probably just have tablets.
I could see Rarity with a computer. She runs a high-end clothing business, probably needs all kinds of spreadsheets and the like, to say nothing of prototyping her dresses in a 3D imaging program.
RD, I could see her being a poser with an Alienware rig for the games.

Does Dashie look like the type of character who cares about slight OS optimisations? Someone who wants to go fast won’t spend hours to save a few U cycles.

Eh, Macs suck, but they tend to be stylish and I doubt Rarity would use a computer for things that were heavy duty. Probably just browsing the internet and business type things.
I think a Mac would be fine for her because of what she would probably use it for, even if it is inferior to the rest here
