This Statement was proven true! Good Job PonyTheorist!

and he will become powerfull and brave!

Funnily enough, I hold a headcanon similar to this. All dragons have some sort of unique magic trick they can do with their flames… but most don’t bother to figure out what it is. I mean, they’re big and breathe fire, so most critters stay out of their way already. Unlike Spike (who was taught by Celestia herself), most dragons never have a teacher that can show them how to use their fire for anything other scaring/burning other things.

Now, taking what you said and expanding on it, it might also be possible dragons could teach their unique fire tricks to one another…

That dragon is not old, he’s just tortoise-like. Though I do agree that adult dragons have various sizes, including small bipedal, I think adult form depends more on their worldview and mentality (“what is valuable for them?”) than “greed vs aging”.

@Daneasaur
The whole post is about adult form depending from various factors. It could be winged, horned, spiked, or whatever.
@Daneasaur
Come on, it was the first adult spike picture I had in my folder. Didn’t think it really mattered, its not even mine.😑
Nice, but you’re still including wings for no reason.

Or he could be a salamander, a wingless fire breathing reptile which, like the lindwyrm, is occasionally considered a type of dragon.

TWANG
Good theory, but I think you’ll need more then one ‘old’ small dragon to prove this. It’s fully possible that magic was involved there, or some other weirdness. One example does not mean that it’s a rule. We’ll see if this holds up when/if more dragon-centric episodes come up. Personally, I hope this theory is incorrect. I like big things, and I think size is a part of what dragons are.
@Ignorance
I think all or most dragons can use some magic. At the end of the episode twilight and ember become pen pals. Twi can send messages to ember via spike, but how would ember return them?
Either her or some other dragon would need to be able to send it back with magic. Otherwise ember would need a courier to deliver a reply. Which could take days.
@GrumpyPony

I was mostly joking, lol. Still kinda hold to my head canon that Spike’s a special breed of dragon and that lack of wings doesn’t mean he won’t be able to fly.

We already know he can use magic in his fire after all, and Eastern Dragons don’t need wings :)
@Ignorance
I thought about him being a linnorm but they aren’t considered true dragons. So unless the writers took some liberties. The Dragon Scepter wouldn’t work on spike right?
I mean the writers do actually try and stay as true to mythologies as they can while mixing it up a bit. Like changelings.
@GrumpyPony

Alternatively…

@Ignorance
He could be a type of wyrm as some mythologies describe them as wingless dragons.
Or he could be a drake, again some mythologies describe drakes as immature dragons that have not grown their wings yet.
@Itsthinking
Thanks.
Not sure how I feel about this. If their hippogriffs like silver quill than I guess its fine.

At leat we get to see more griffon culture and more dragons. Perhaps Ember will make a return too.
@GrumpyPony

I like this idea. I’m also comfortable with the idea that Spike is a special kind of dragon. We don’t know how old his egg was before Twilight hatched it or where it came from after all. It could be that he’s the last of a supposedly extinct dragon breed that never grows wings.

All that being said…

@Itsthinking

I’m with the others, where did you hear this? I haven’t seen anything on EQD about it.
@Itsthinking
Where’d you hear this?
@Pagan
I agree… Wat?😓

Gay Viking
@GrumpyPony
Yeah, an episode about that is supposedly coming up.
@Itsthinking
Do you mean griffons with cutie marks? Did I miss something?
@GrumpyPony
Hey, if griffons can get them now, who knows?
@Itsthinking
Exactly, we’ve never seen another wingless dragon.
In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if getting wings is the dragon equivalent to getting a cutie mark.
@GrumpyPony
Unless he’s a special kind of dragon, yeah. They really are stuck with not answering it or going for the obvious aren’t they? It’s not even something you can imply like with Scootaloo because he just straight up has no wings at all.

To date IIRC the only wingless dragons Spike’s size we’ve seen were fictional in the context of the story. They were in that Flurry Heart book. But that barely counts.
