My guess is her reasons for not being into spike don’t have to do with him being a dragon and are simply because he’s a child, I mean he only started puberty last season.

The completely valid explanation is that Spike is a baby dragon. He has an adorable crush on Rarity that she likes to use to her advantage, but she doesn’t look at him like he looks at her.
Rarity looks at Spike like the child he is. Their only shared interest is in gems. Rarity uses them for decoration, Spike eats them.
Sparity is not a good ship for either party. He’s too greedy for her and she’s all about generosity.

I forgot about the Dragon Code. But in my defense the episode it was explained in is boring as watching paint dry so I was probably tuned out.

Why would Rarity, a full grown mare, have any interest in a child? Even if Sparity only happens when they’re adults it is still reminiscent of child grooming as Rarity has been molding Spike to serve her own interests. I’m rewatching the series and she gets Spike to bend over backwards for her.
