The 2017 movie is basically made for the fans. While that’s not a bad thing and all, but for those outsiders who never watched FIM or My Little Pony in general, will feel confused by it.

I see some people are butthurt that Spike is a stallion and not a colt, since we never see him goes to school or hang out with the CMC instead we see him hang out with Big Mac in several episodes. So Spike end up as a stallion makes sense to me, however Spike’s age throughout the show is very inconsistent.
