Isn’t that pretty much what I was saying? The depicted scenario is survivable, provided the deathclaw is already badly wounded.
If it’s this close and healthy, you’re dead, no matter where you shoot it, and if it’s wounded badly enough to make this encounter theoretically survivable, going for a headshot makes more sense than shooting at the legs that it no longer needs to reach you.

Actually, Deathclaws with crippled arms or legs can’t do the lunging attack that kills you almost instantly, they can only swipe at you, which is survivable. You can also outrun or dodge a crippled deathclaw, so it does matter a little bit.

Well I was always able to 1-shot deathclaws with Blackhawk, provided I was hidden at the time.
