One thing of note: Don’t forget her diamond motif. Especially with her chase song near the end:
You don’t even know me at all (You)Don’t understand the meaning of my fall What my family would think if I ever failed at anything I’m a diamond; that means you never break No matter what be the cost of the path I take Whatever I have to do to win in the end
I don’t think she would ever lose it, but internalized and compress until she became some cold, hard, unfettered maniac.
@Jarkes
Indeed, she might’ve been even taking out her sadness/anger on the CMC, and other ponies in order to bury those feelings of her’s, or to make her feel superior, when deep down, she didn’t feel good about herself at all, because she could never live up to her Mother’s expectations.
(Hence the “sometimes I wish I was somepony else” remark as she watches a happy filly with her parent by.)
After all her “failures” in past episodes, it’s likely she got berated/lectured, or even punished by her Mother, and this school election incident (combined with losing the respect of her school, and best friend) was the final straw that broke the diamond.
Further fridge-horror, if the CMC didn’t help her, how long would Tiara hold out before finally losing it, or worse?
There’s almost kind of some fridge horror about it. Why did Diamond Tiara keep getting worse and worse with each of her appearances? Because she kept FAILING, and her mother wouldn’t have any of that.
I was hoping we’d see adorable/touching pics of sad/broken Tiara now.
Tiara practically lost everything she cared about, her ego, the fear/respect (or very little respect) of her school, her best friend, everything. (And on top of that gets berated by her mother, makes one wonder how badly her Mom reacted when she lost the “Flag carrying” competition to the “blank-flanks.” Keep that in mind, next time you feel Tiara didn’t “get what she deserved” that episode.)
It didn’t just crush her, it broke her. But in a way, it helped her question her behavior, and made her realize it wasn’t getting her anywhere.
While most others would be happy to see that happen to their bullies, I love how instead the CMC wanted to help Tiara, and make things better for her. This shows how awesome the CMC truely are.
You know, I suddenly really want to know what her home life is like. I can picture her sitting all alone in this big mansion, watching other children outside playing and having fun, knowing that she can’t because her mother would never allow it. She’d likely have all the toys and things she could want, especially if her talent is that she can get people to do what she wants them to, but they’d only be things. She’d still feel empty inside.

They’ve got a pool, so they apparently have multiple homes.
In the last episode, we saw that she doesn’t necessarily live in a big home.
Right as I was clicking “post reply”, the split second after clicking it and it was posting, I said “Aw crap, I misspelled “theme”.
I disagree that the them is “dark” enough to call for this tag, but I’m not going to argue it.

Who said she hit her head voluntarily?
