Extremely slow image loading

Just wondering if it’s just me for some reason, or if other people are having the same problem. But images on DB are loading extremely slow. Have been for about a week. At first I thought it was just a really high server load, but it’s been going on for way too long, and doesn’t seem to be effected by time of day.
 
Images take forever to display, and even longer to . However, the forums and the image pages themselves (layout, comments, etc) load just fine.
 
So, is it just me, or is it the website? I haven’t had this problem with any other sites lately.

nobody else has had that problem or at least mentioned it before.

Just not sure what the problem would be then. Haven’t had any issues with any other sites except Derpibooru, and then it’s only with images. Forums load just fine.

Browser, OS, etc?

I’m having the same issue. This is the only site that’s doing it for me as well.

Same as Woofy. Firefox and Chrome, Windows 7, broadband internet (cable through Comcast). No other bandwidth intensive programs running that Im aware of.

This should be fixed now.

Now I have a page full of thumbnails that refuse to load.

Correction. I’d say 90% of the thumbnails won’t load. Instead I get link text of the tags for the image. Then when I go to an image page, the image starts to load, then fails and I’m stuck with either a partially loaded image, or a blank image.
 
Considering there was an update just today, I’ll give it a day or two and see if things even out, but that’s what the site is doing for me currently.

When you get a page where 90% of the thumbs isn’t loading, if you just let it sit long enough (maybe up to a minute or something) do they eventually load?

I’m still having the same problem. But sometimes the site loads as fast as it used to for about a minute before going back to loading really slowly.

Nope, the page stopped loading. Reloading the page sometimes caused some of the thumbnails to load, but not always.
 
However, it seems to have cleared up by now. Like I said, it may have been a ‘usual’ hiccup that tends to happen every time the site updates something.

Was working fine earlier today for me, but now it’s going beyond slow.

Same. Was working fine earlier, now it’s back to thumbnails not loading, and images only loading half the time.
 
I also got a message saying I had Javascript disabled, which I have never gotten before. Far as I know I’ve always had Javascript running, and I haven’t installed any plugins or addons what would disable it under Firefox. I just tried updating Java, but it’s still not acting any better.

I just hope this clears up soon. I’d rather not forget about DB, I like this place honestly.

I’m getting the same issue. Lots of image lag, often timing out to the point of having huge swaths of images turn up broken even after repeated refreshing. Only site I’m getting loading issues on, and it’s occurred on multiple devices and connections.

We’re currently experimenting with an additional solution. This appears to be several different problems affecting different s and determining which is which and how to fix them is a bit of an ordeal.

Well, at least we know the issues are being dealt with, regardless of how long it’s going to take.

Dunno what you did, but about 4:40 AM EST everything started running really smooth for me.

I can’t see fabulous images of Celestia! This is a travesty on levels ed any current world event.

Well, I went and did a traceroute to derpicdn.net. Looks like, at least for me, there are three hops that are dropping packets like crazy, gra-3b-6k.fr.eu (which is right before the server itself), and ldn-5-6k.uk.eu (2 hops before the previous one), and nwk-2-6k.nj.us (right before the ldn hop).
 
This might explain the image loading problems myself and others are having. (Also makes it insanely difficult to use these forums because it thinks I’m either blocking the server, or don’t have cookies enabled.) Sadly, no clue what you guys will be able to do about this, especially if they’re out of your or your hoster’s range of control.
