or some sort of soft reboot like the ghost rider films (sequel doesn’t retcon the first but presents enough changes to make it’s status being a direct sequel questionable)?

We pick up like Beast Machines was never made, the sequel would be Megatron escaping custody building a new team and leading our heroes on a merry chase through the galaxy,

besides, writing megatron needs a crew again is a step down from conquering cybertron (technically) by himself.

But it would actually make sense, unlike the latter, especially now that he doesn’t have Cryotek as a fall guy so the Tripredicus council will be after him which he will use to get more followers since he’s the only one with any Preacon pride left, make his new Second in command Dinobot’s sister leader of the raptoricons, who he convinces to him by claiming the maximals murdered His loyal and favorite ally Dinobot,
“Forgive me Thrashclaw, a traitor named Blackarachnia lured your brother into an ambush, the maximals and their human allies swarmed him before we could arrive, he fought them off but he was beyond saving by that point, his final words were to appologize for only taking 4 of the maximals with him, the greatest feat of valor of the beast wars and it still wasn’t up to his standards, and now out of spite for his turning back their cowardly attack, they are spreading lies, claiming he betrayed the predacon cause!”
