I think it’s bull shity for people who don’t have disposable incomes, for me to play this game I’d need to buy a good Android tablet but I heard the iOS version is far better so I’d need to invest hundreds of dollars for an iPad just so I can watch some ponies run and dance around.
So before you go all white knight saying how the emulators are copyright infringment, yeah I can understand - but think about the people who can’t play the game at all. I would love to Gameloft in anyway I can, but I can’t invest hundreds of dollars for a tablet.
BlueStacks is not and “Android emulator”, but an Android-compatible environment for PC.
Anyway, you CAN install Eclipse and the Android SDK, which has a native real Android phone/tablet emulator. Try with that, but I somehow doubt you’ll be able to play fluently.
HOKAY. Ze here. I’ve had a history of making applications work on things that it shouldn’t work on. Today, I’ll show you how to run Android apps on a computer.
You will need an Android phone (borrow it from a friend) and a computer (mac or PC works. Not sure about Linux. Probably will work). What you do is this:
First, take the phone and put it on your computer.
Then, take some duct tape and attach your phone to it.
YOU CAN NOW PLAY ANDROID APPS ON YOUR COMPUTER. ENJOY!
…
Now for the real way to do it:
In all seriousness, the hard part isn’t getting Android to run on your computer, but it’s getting the app to run on that emulated Android. There are several ways of running Android on your computer. There’s at least one emulator that works for Mac, Windows and, I suppose, Linux. Google provides an emulator, however, this version does NOT have Google Play on it. I haven’t tried this yet, but I would suggest reading this to install Google Play on that emulator.
Another way (which I started to look into) is to take the MLP .APK file and install it on your emulator. I haven’t had any success with this, however, it would probably be simpler to do. It also requires someone to create an APK backup of the app. Here’s the one I made. I have tried this and failed, so far.
Just spouting out unresearched ideas here, but would it be possible to install an x86/x64 Android image, preferably with Google Market hacked in? You can then install and run the game under that. However, it would likely be very slow.
Don’t forget that Android can run on “real” PCs because of its Linux-based kernel.

Provided we restrict ourselves to Android, which is open-source, this has little to nothing to do with copyright infringement since the game is freeware.
All free, or with trial versions, and perfectly legal. Though I’ve already heard the MLP game doesn’t work in BlueStacks (not sure about other options).

I don’t thing you understand what respect is, you can respect someone but still hate them, you can respect the law but still brake it.
In an ideal world, I’d just donate the game’s priceto the creators and tell them “look, I love your game, I’m using an emulator, but here’s my respects. Ta!” and leave it at that. Sadly, the world isn’t that simple; not because we like complicated things per se, but because we love to make things complicated with the intention of coming out on top of the world as a result.

A luxary for the rich I guess.

What does that even mean anymore outside of a weapon people use to get rid of videos they hate?
Here’s what I believe you need to do:
FUCKING SCIENCE!!!!

You win this round. bows
Rape is against the law, so in that case the rape train(the law) brakes down. :D
You cant brake the law, because the law is a rape train AND IT HAS NO BRAKES!!

This has been a random Crowley musing
>Respect the law
>Everyone is an anarchist in disguise
Oh man, internet tough guys everywhere
Hay now, we do respect the law here, but we look for all the loopholes we can to get away with stuff. :D
