I mean, it’ supposed to be the original Beast Wars character but it’s based on the Takara exclusive Legends toy that’s a the Animated Blackarchnia toy retooled/redecoed in the that Beast Wars version.

I should also mention, according to TFW2005, another reason Animated never got a fourth season was because of the toyline not being fully released until the second season was halfway finished. Mostly due to retail stores demanding more movie toys instead.

I think Animated got cancelled due to Hasbro forming the Hub, and both parties are to blame – Cartoon Network for not wanting to host a series that technically belongs to a competing network, and Hasbro for wanting to completely start anew with Transformers Prime and their new “Aligned” continuity timeline.
That’s what I’m thinking. I think both parties had bits to blame with this. I love Prime and the Aligned continuity though and I at least appreciate that Animated currently ended on a pretty solid high note as opposed to being cancelled on a cliffhanger or having a really bad ending. So even though I am upset about what happened with Animated, I kind of viewed the glass as half full instead of half empty.
If Animated comes back, it will probably be in the form of streaming service exclusive season, kind of like Young Justice Season 3 and the “Will they or Won’t they” Teen Titans Season 6 that keeps getting hinted at.

I heard from one of the voice actors who worked on Transformers Animated and a former Hasbro employee on his Twitter that Hasbro were to blame for Animated ending at the wrong time. But what you said about Cartoon Network does sound likely too.
However, I’m still holding on to a tiny bit of hope that Transformers Animated may come back for a fourth season some day. Mainly because Hasbro are still in partnership with Cartoon Network for the current Transformers cartoon, Cyberverse. They also have some unreleased Animated toys still in storage, Marauder Megatron, Hot Shot, Fugitive Waspinator, Goldfire Grimlock and Powermaster Optimus Prime, which they could use to season four if they have a change of heart and greenlight it.
Cartoon Network also brought Samurai Jack back for a fifth season on Adult Swim previously, and I’ve heard rumours that the original Teen Titans from 2003 are coming back for a sixth season too.
I also went to a Transformers at a convention last year, which was being run by people from Hasbro, and they said that Transformers Animated coming back may still be a possibility. But it was just discussion from the Q&A part of the , nothing official.

I haven’t seen any official sources that brought up Hasbro being responsible for it being cancelled but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case.
That being said, I do think Cartoon Network had a lot to do with this too. Given their horrible track record with treating their shows and canceling them early, I wouldn’t put it past them for doing the same for this series. They did Transformers Animated a huge dirty by putting it in poor timeslots and hardly advertising it (again, not a surprise since they do this often).

Hasbro were the ones to blame for Animated’s abrupt cancellation. Instead of giving us a proper ending to one of the best Transformers cartoons of all time, they gave us a terrible movie named Revenge of the Fallen instead.

It was to be her colors in season 4 where she found and led the Predacons.
It was used in the unofficial finale comic Trail and Error that used some of the ideas that would have been season four.

I heard about her returning in Season 4 but I wasn’t aware of her getting a makeover like this. That’s pretty neat. Such a shame it was canceled.

I’m not surprised to hear that. Seems like a lot of factors were at play with why Season Four never happened.

Blackarachnia was originally going to return in Season 4 of Transformers Animated in these colours if it wasn’t cancelled.

Yes but this one seems to be a blend of her Beast Wars and Animated counterparts into one brand new design. I honestly rather like it.
