Except the artist literally just said, and I quote, “if you see her as cis to an extent that’s a headcanon as the show has never proved nor disproved she’s cis “ While sexual orientation I could see as being vague, I’d say there’s a pretty solid argument that the show makes it clear she was born female and identifies as female.
 
If you want to make an AU or whatever that’s fine, and I’m not going to get butthurt over someone drawing their own version of a character, but let’s not pretend the show hasn’t clearly implied that all of the mane 6 are cis gendered. I think it’d be great if the show ever did introduce an actual trans character, but I doubt it’ll touch that subject with how young the target audience is.

The problem is most usually don’t have a problem with that. It’s when you attach canon characters to movements, beliefs, etc. that they canonically have no connection to that people get their panties in a bunch. If it’s an OC that has been established as whatever, no one cares.
 
Ideally there would be a tag for when canon characters are being explicitly portrayed as transgendered, demisexual, or whatever. But idk what tag you can create for that while also not having it slapped on to pictures of just Fluttershy and Pinkie swapping spit. Mouthpiece came the closest, but that lead to a slippery slope of abuse.
 
I don’t know. Personally I may not be a fan of this type of content of attaching canon characters to different groups when the character really doesn’t have any connections to them, but I usually just skip over it and move on instead of bitching (technically I haven’t posted on this site in ages. Don’t even follow much of the show other than fan content anymore, just saw this blow up and decided to throw my two cents in). I just know the usual recommendation is to filter it out, but what tag do you make for something specific like that?
