(3) I’m pretty sure that Dash was able to fly again after this message. In the G5 comics, issue 2, we see a of pegasi flying above Pinkie and Little Cheese, apparently after the creation of the crystals. As well, the G5 bible, which I it might not be completely canon anymore, states how the annual Unity Festival allowed magic to be kept active in new Equestria, which means pegasi were likely able to fly until pony society collapsed down the road. Plus the movie established that each of the pony tribes thought they were the only one to lose their magic. Meaning they must have kept their magic until well after the tribes broke up. G4-G5 era history already reflects rather poorly on Twilight’s ability to live up to the title of “Princess of Friendship” - if the breakup happened within the lifetime of the Mane Six, that would make things look a hell of a lot worse.
Those are just my thoughts, though. Perhaps I’m just a big dumb-dumb who’s still trying to cope with how G5 prematurely ended. Either way, if you want to discuss this with me, let’s do it in a way that the comments don’t end up locked down here, too. :)
And I’m just a big dumb-dumb who can’t get past the fact that there’s basically no excuse for Twilight and friends to be unable to resolve the Opaline situation without resorting to such drastic measures. This comic feels like rubbing salt on a wound.
