My dear friend, what you call a “cute art style with big ears” is merely a thinly veiled manifestation of the subconscious. The exaggerated appendages represent a castration anxiety or a desire for phallic power, while the longing for the television program is a textbook regression to childhood comfort to escape the anxieties of the civilized world… but then again, sometimes a big ear is just a big ear.
