If they can’t handle the pressure, then maybe they weren’t fit to be cops to begin with. Besides, we’ve forced teachers to do the same thing for decades, so…
 
Also, as a side note, many police departments are way, way over-funded, and cops have also been turned into “social workers with guns”, but not given any of the training necessary to do so (not that more training would help anyways). By putting funds into more useful programs, like say housing, schoolds, food stamps, and mental-health programs, among other things, which would greatly reduce crime.
 

 
In that case, put them all in museums or graveyards, where they can serve their intended purpose.

Ya don’t really understand what “defund the police” means, do ya?
 
Also, statues outside of museums are more about “moralizing” history than teaching it.  
Or, in the case of many “confederate monuments” put up across the SE, to try and scare off black people (as many statues “honoring confederate soldiers” were put up in the 1950s and 60s).
