You aren’t wrong. Your observations are factual. You were trying to be unsympathetic and succeeded. But what was the fucking point? Was making yourself the bigger asshole part of some plan?
 
You yourself conceded that he probably already knew some of what you brought up. I’d hazard that he knows these things all to well since he says he’s helped others through such problems.
 
And telling him it isn’t worth it to work through the pain, not worth giving until it really hurts? That’s disrespectful. He’s got devotion to his craft; that’s an uncommon quality. How dare you.

I suppose this image does a good job at illustrating the pointless bickering that’s going on simply because you can use its contents to parody any side (pro, con, and neutral) of the recent DWM drama.
