Back in the twitter days, Alumx would post wip. He was a genius with Blender, he found a way to draw/paint his 2d backgrounds in a 3d environment. Texture Painting. I assume he would make a transparent wall type surface and paint 2d characters right into the scene. I can’t find the post where he goes over that, it might have been a live stream he did once.
