Well I can agree that Starlight “redemption” is hella rush, but the series has time to make her a way better character, this is THE finale, they don’t even have time to get Chrysalis, the one showed the most care about her subject and most likely to be redeemed because every other changelings can physically transform and we can see her actually change into a better creature if it happens, then the series can play the same ol’ story again in season 10 if it could happen(and I don’t even think the show can be topped by a bigger treat at this point if the three is redeemed, having the real Grogar? That’s silly, and what’s his plan going to be? Just another epic battle won’t do anymore and the show also used the clever and manipulative card already. At that point making a decision to redeem Grogar is going to be hated even more by fan because, like you said, they done it with Starlight and these three already, and just a fight to jail him/ turn him to stone is going to make you angry as well.) They choose the route for listening to the fans and not giving much more “second chances” after Starlight to major villains, look at the darkness part of Pony of Shadow, Cozy glow in s8 and now, beside the more minor villains like Neighsay twisted viewpoint to other creatures, that lack-luster redemption for Garble and even Daring Do’s rival, some just don’t get the treatment everyone expected this show to pull like Lightning Dust but people still hates their approach to how the series ends. I think finally we see villain being defeated again like Sombra in this season is better because people is going to hate both the outcome anyway, so just leave the redemption to fan’s imagination or the 2020 movie is still better than seeing Starlight redemption again and everyone sing together happily ever after. The show make use of former villain so well that before this finale I wished all of the villains will be redeemed including Sombra because he is also very interesting and have a story line of his redemption already that can be remake into the show as well and only Grogar will be banished forever, but it is inevitable, heck before we know what exactly happen in the finale Discord probably tries to make a final challenge to Twilight’s friendship and maybe it could work as redeeming the other villains as well, but I understand people are tired of another lack-luster redemption again and I really don’t care anymore, either way I am not going to be sad about how the show ends anyway because I am very satisfied already.

You realise how severe of her action is, right? She already have been locked away once and still didn’t learn her lesson, both trying to take away magic(very important in MLP universe) and a villain team to destroy all thing/rule under her iron fist is not something that can be unnoticed like stabbing someone just because they can’t control their feeling, not to mention it is all maliciously planned and that’s the difference, also she is very clearly a lot more mature than she is already and heck we didn’t even got a backstory of why she is this way, the show literally just tries to tell us she is simply a little sociopath and she doesn’t even want to get help seen in s8 finale, that’s all and the show doesn’t even want to redeem these three anymore and ends this way.
