The great GamerGate discussion. (Stuff and things)

@rogerSnow
There’s always new information of some kind out there, if you’re lookin.

how I was mentioning the GamerGate wikipedia mess? Jim Wales, the guy who co-founded the site, actually chimed in himself recently.

Naturally, the zealots who continuously sabotage the neutrality of the page haven’t changed their minds.

What’s sad is the responses.
“It’s like an ab rationalising”
“Lol. Reasonable, and Antagonistic?”

I don’t know what he’s said outside of that particular talk page, and he only just popped in there starting yesterday. He doesn’t seem to want to sound ive, but at least he was willing to point out the problem with some of the language being used.

Can we just not discuss her? She is a troll. Her following is a bunch of baiting trolls. MSNBC is the laughing stock of the Internet. They’re not worth your time.

I suspect that Wales is most concerned with wikipedia not being used to push political agendas. There have been debates about this in the past where he’s weighed in to ask for more neutrality, though far too often the editors ignore the NPOV requirement on contentious issues.

I rather not either, but this isn’t a simple case of an attention seeker.
It isn’t just “ignore her and she’ll disappear”, since she has been actively seeking attention. And I say we let her.
Her argument is faulty, her emotions are all over the place, she attacks anyone who debates her, and her statements are just the same spiel with no new evidence. This causes her to be easily refutable and the more she interviews the worse she looks because of everything listed above.
Doesn’t even take much effort to blast her argument.

So… since this whole thing has outgrown the original title, I’m taking suggestions on what to change it to.

Honestly I forgot that the title was still Quinnspiracy.
I’d vouch for the name “gamer-gate discussion”. Simple, short, and is named “discussion” so those who are out of the loop or disagree can find this thread and know that they still have a say if they are willing to discuss.
On a more serious note, GamerGate or GamerGate Discussion should be fine.

The thread name should be short and concise with the word ‘gamergate’ as the keyword in the title.
